Itinerary
This safari begins at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and ends at Mombasa International Airport.
DAY 1 & 2: Laikipia Plateau
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed be a member of the &Beyond team, who will assist you onto a transfer vehicle waiting to take you to Wilson Airport for your next flight to Loisaba airstrip. Shortly after arrival, enjoy a short game drive en route to camp.The eastern escarpment of the Rift Valley, known as the Laikipia Plateau, is divided into enormous game reserves. The plateau is home to more endangered species than anywhere else in East Africa. Relax for two nights in a cottage at Mutamaiyu House. Your stay includes three meals daily, as well as game drives in the Mugie Wildlife Conservancy, sundowners, guided walks, camel walks, fishing, a visit to a local school and a visit to Gala Graves.
DAY 3 – 5: Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be driven to Loisaba airstrip, from where you will be flown to Kichwa Airstrip. A vehicle will be waiting to take you on a game drive to the camp.
Kenya’s most renowned game park, the Masai Mara is situated on the northern border of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Its legendary Great Migration of over two million wildebeest and other antelope has been described as one of nature’s greatest wildlife spectacles. Game viewing is wonderful year round, with virtually guaranteed sightings of the Big Five.
Linger for three nights in a luxury safari tent at &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp. Your stay includes three meals daily, teas and coffees, and emergency medical evacuation. Daily lodge adventures include game drives, bird watching and daily lectures by a Maasai naturalist.
DAY 6 – 8: Mombasa
Catch a light aircraft flight to Ukunda airstrip, where a member of the &Beyond team will be waiting to drive you to Tijara Beach.
The coastal city of Mombasa has some of the best beaches in the world. The city offers diverse marine life, game park safaris, world-class hotels and friendly people, as well as one of the best white, sandy beaches in Africa.
Spend three nights in a cottage at Tijara Beach. Explore the balmy waters while snorkelling or indulge in reef, beach and cave walks.
DAY 9: Departure
You will be driven to Mombasa International Airport, where your adventure with us will end.
