Seven Countries Summer Special

Introducing incredibly priced single or multi-country safari options. A phenomenal array of Wilderness and Sanctuary Retreats camps across seven African countries giving the flexible and competitive edge to tailor-craft an infinite range of unique safari experiences for your guests.

Summer is a special time in Africa. It is the time when there is a kaleidoscope of colour with rich landscapes, an explosion of new life with many species giving birth to their young and a myriad bird species to be seen. These mostly exclusive safari areas continue to offer frequent predator sightings as they take advantage of the glut of inexperienced, younger prey. Dramatic summer skies with imposing cumulonimbus clouds and a tapestry of green exploding with seasonal abundance provide ideal photographic opportunities of an endless assortment of subjects!

SELECTION OF CAMPS
NB: ALL camp choices are subject to availability and certain temporary seasonal or maintenance closures.

Xigera – explore a combination of islands, waterways and lagoons in the heart of the Okavango Delta by mokoro and boat, nature drives and island walks -
including a trip to the famous Chief’s Island.

Seba – situated in riverine forest on a perennial lagoon, this family-friendly camp includes game drives, nature walks and mokoro excursions – a superb
mainland and water camp.

Tubu Tree – an intimate experience on Hunda Island in the Okavango Delta, with diverse habitats providing sanctuary to a wide variety of wildlife.

Jacana – a true water camp that during these months, boasts fantastic game viewing opportunities on the now dry and lush grasslands of Jao Flats. Experience the picturesque floodplains and lush palm islands on game drives, combined with boat and mokoro activities into the permanent lagoons and channels.

Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp – a classic tented camp with magnificent views over the floodplains of the Okavango Delta. Guests also have the unique
opportunity to interact with three semi-habituated elephants (at an additional cost). What better guide to Africa than an elephant?

Duba Plains – situated close to the Okavango Panhandle, activities here centre on game drives and nature walks on remote islands.

Banoka Bush – this diverse area hosts a wealth of wildlife, and is named in honour of the River San people, or Banoka, the earliest settlers of the Delta. Game drives, night drives and nature walks on this game productive eastern edge of the Okavango Delta are further enhanced with excursions into the Moremi Game Reserve in the Khwai (North Gate) region.

DumaTau – overlooking a large lagoon, and close to the iconic Savute Channel, this camp and incredible area offers both game drives by day/night and nature walks. The region possesses all the habitat diversity, making it a haven for wildlife.

Selinda – with its large, game-rich floodplains Selinda offers a unique wildlife experience by vehicle and foot. Boating on the Selinda Spillway – a unique waterway linking the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti Marshes – provides a different perspective to this area.

Linyanti Discoverer – an authentic and rustic safari camp which offers day and night game drives in the productive northern sector of the Linyanti Concession. This is an ideal location from which to explore the Savute Channel, the edge of the African Rift and the wildlife-rich Zibadianja Lagoon.

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero – after a day of game viewing, finished with a sundowner cruise on the Chobe River, unwind at this luxurious lodge with a
pampering session in the full service spa complete with treetop treatment room, relax in the split-level swimming pool or simply soak in the far-reaching views over the river below.

Within Botswana, to enhance your experience, we highly recommend adding Kalahari Plains. Being the closest camp to the famous Deception Valley, this camp provides a highly productive game viewing experience which comes into its own in the summer season.
In addition, consider adding a Premier or Classic camp from the Wilderness portfolio, or from the Sanctuary Lodges portfolio.

Sanctuary Olonana – the main areas and tents at this award-winning and eco-friendly camp all overlook a private stretch of the Mara River in Kenya where a pod of hippos lives permanently. In addition to game viewing activities, there is also the opportunity to interact with the local Maasai people.

Sanctuary Gorill a Forest Camp – this atmospheric camp is located deep within Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is home to half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The only luxury camp within the park, this is the ideal base for a gorilla tracking adventure.
(Gorilla permits are at additional cost – US$ 500.00 per person – and must be obtained prior to booking accommodation. Further details available on request).

Kulala Desert – offers the closest access for visiting the unique dunes of Sossusvlei, through our private gate entrance into the Namib Naukluft Park.
Each tented “kulala” has a rooftop deck for sleeping out under the stars and viewing the spectacular desert night skies. Obtain a different perspective of the topography by hot air balloon (at additional cost).

Kulala Wilderness – a perfectly positioned camp with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Available activities include visits to Sossusvlei, nature drives in the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve and eco-sensitive quad biking.

Desert Rhino – set in a vast private concession, this intimate camp allows for exploration of the unique Damaraland region which is marked for its tranquil, minimalist beauty, surprising wealth of arid-adapted wildlife and the largest free roaming black rhino population in Africa.

Doro Nawas – key features of this area are the petroglyphs – prehistoric rock engravings – and San Bushman paintings at Twyfelfontein (Namibia’s first World Heritage Site) as well as the Damara Living Museum to learn about the Damara culture. Nature drives yield a surprising diversity of game including a chance to track the famed desert-adapted elephant.

Andersson’s – this camp is located on the private Ongava Game Reserve, bordering Etosha National Park. Activities include game drives into Etosha National Park with its excellent wildlife concentrations, together with nature walks and night drives on Ongava itself. A busy waterhole in front of camp allows for relaxed wildlife viewing from the tent deck or main area.

Toka Leya – set in a private and secluded location in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, overlooking the mighty Zambezi River and close to the Victoria Falls.
Tent interiors boast cool wooden flooring, tasteful, uncluttered African décor in earthy hues and climate-control.

The River Club – located on an elevated bank of the Zambezi River with sweeping views upstream, this well-appointed Edwardian-styled lodge offers a refined start or end to any safari.

Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma – just over ten kilometres upstream from the world-famous Victoria Falls, and built on the banks of the Zambezi, the lodge offers air-conditioned tree houses, connected by wooden walkways, and two private family houses, all with uninterrupted views over the Zambezi River. (Costs for the two Chuma Houses will be based on a minimum of 4 guests).

NB: The only activities included in the rate at The River Club, Toka Leya and Sussi & Chuma are a visit to the Victoria Falls (viewed from the Zambian side) and a sunset cruise. We recommend adding to your experience from a wide selection of adventure activities that include “The Flight of Angels” helicopter flight, game drives, elephant back safaris, bungee jumping and even white water rafting (at an additional cost). During the November to January period, we would like to suggest a Tour of the Falls on the Zimbabwean side (at an additional cost) due to low water levels.

Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge – originally built for Kenneth Kaunda, the first Zambian president, the historic lodge’s unique hilltop position in the South Luangwa affords incredible views over the lush valley below. Perfect for families with interconnecting suites and no age restrictions.

Davison’s Camp – is beautifully situated in south-eastern Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s premier wildlife destination and conservation area. As one of the few camps located within park boundaries, Davison’s offers total privacy, while the Linkwasha Concession, in which Davison’s is found, offers a compelling mix of diverse wildlife, ensuring one of the best nature experiences imaginable in Africa.
