Mark GarzancichMark Garzancich was born in South Africa in 1960 and at the age of 5 went on his first safari to the Kruger National Park with his family where his love of wildlife began. During the 60's and 70's Mark and his family frequently visited the Kruger where Mark's father had Honorary Ranger status. Mark always wanted to be a game ranger but in the early 80's, at the insistence of his parents, he went off to University to study Civil and Mechanical Engineering. After 4 years of study Mark was drafted into the the SADF for National Service. After his National Service Mark decided to do a course in Computer Programming which he excelled at and got a bursary from one of the leading South African Banks. During this period Mark started visiting the Kruger National Park again on a regular basis and started to realise that this was his destiny. He kept a tent in the boot of his car and would often at the click of a finger head off on the 450km journey to his destiny where he would meet up with his parents in their mobile home at Skukuza. It was in 1994 when South Africa was heading for a new democratic republic that Mark met Celeste Greenblatt, and Taga Safaris was born. Mark was finally home. A truly full circle.
