If you have ever fantasised about Africa - sleeping in the bush surrounded by wildlife and walking with tribespeople - then you have probably been thinking of Kenya. Kenya's natural environment and cultural heritage are almost unmatched in Africa. For many, Kenya means wildlife and up to a million wildebeest and zebra migrate across the Southern section of the country every year attracting an entourage of predators.
The Masai Mara National Park is Kenya's biggest tourist attraction and this is where The Great Migration takes place, considered to be one of the World's greatest natural phenomena. The reserve is also famous for its large numbers of lions not to mention the other distinctive African wildlife such as Elephants, Antelopes, Giraffes to Leopards and Hyenas and large groups of Hippo and Crocodile. There is also a reasonable amount of the rare Black Rhino and Cheetah. The quantity and variety of wildlife in the Masai Mara is simply breathtaking.
Another of Kenya's attractions is the Indian Ocean town of Mombasa, an historic region with Arabic influences. Mombasa is the hub of the resort scene with miles and miles of beautiful white sand beaches. For those visiting Kenya, Mombasa is definately worth a visit for a few days after your safari.
