Savanna Game Reserve

Savanna Game Reserve traverses over a few thousand hectares of pristine African bushveld where frequent sightings of Africa’s big game occur during early morning, late afternoon and evening game drives. Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino and Cheetah, plus a large variety of general game and abundant bird life are seen regularly. A state of the art landrover is used for game drives and has been expertly modified to ensure your safety and comfort. Game drives are conducted by professional and extremely well qualified game rangers, who have a minimum working experience of five years in the industry. Optional walking safaris are conducted daily, in order to experience the beauty and fascination of Africa’s wildlife on foot.

Savanna Game Reserve is situated in the western sector of the internationally renowned and prestigious Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which borders the world famous Kruger National Park. The central facilities include a dining room, lounge and bar, which are all incorporated under a central tent overlooking a waterhole. From the comfort of the Lodge, guests may view some of Africa’s impressive wildlife as they come down to drink. Full English breakfasts and delicious lunches are served in the tented diningroom, and dinner is served in the open air boma around a log fire. The bar stocks an impressive array of quality South African wines, as well as a large selection of beers, spirits and soft drinks. In between game viewing activities and meals, guests may relax around the swimming pool or browse through the curio shop.

The Executive and Luxury tented suites combine the romance of a tented roof, with the sophistication of a permanent structure that ensures luxury and privacy. The Savanna Suite is a traditional thatch roofed building designed to offer high levels of elegance and comfort.

Game Viewing
Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino, cheetah, hippo and crocodile plus a multitude of general game and over 450 bird species may be viewed from the comfort and safety of the open game drive vehicle.
Game drives are conducted by professional and extremely well qualified game rangers and trackers, who are experienced and knowledgeable on all aspects of the bush.

Two state of the art landrovers are used for game drives and have been expertly modified to ensure your safety and comfort. The afternoon game drive is purposefully interrupted for sundowners to witness an african sunset, and the absolute peace and quiet of the bush.
Daily trips from the Lodge to the local Shangaan Village and a tour of the scenic Panarama route is offered. These activities are offered during the day and will not affect participation in the daily game drives. (Rates for the above on request).

Optional walking safaris are conducted daily, in order to experience the beauty and fascination of Africa’s flora and fauna.
Bush dinners and bush breakfasts are on request, weather permitting.
